This can be complicated unless you understand the rules and betting options. The game is based on guessing the results of tossing two dice. The Come Out throw starts the game off and you try to get 2, 3, 7, 11, or 12 to win. Getting 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10 gives you a Point and a chance to throw again.
There are two identical sides to a Craps table with zones called Pass and Don't Pass line bets; Come and Don't Come bets; Odds bet; Place bets and Field bets. There is also a place in the center called Proposition Bets.
Winning/losing plays
Pass Bets / Don't Bets - During the Come Out bet stage you can choose Pass bet (meaning that you intend to get 7 or 11 to win) or Don't Bet (when it is 2 or 3 to win). If you get 12, you have a Don't Bets Tie and the chance to toss the dice again.
Various kinds of Craps bets
Pass Line Bet - When you roll 7 or 11 you have a 'Natural Win'. Conversely getting 2, 3, or 12 is a 'Natural Loss' ('Craps'). If you determine the Point on the Pass Line, you can do a Come Bet .
Odds on Pass Line Bet - If you have determined the Point, you can bet again. When you choose the Come Bet rather than the Pass Line Bet, this is called the Odds on Come Bet . However you also have the choice of making a Don't Come Bet. In this case, a win is 2 or 3 and a loss is 7 or 11.
Place Bets - In this case you fix the Point and then declare that you will get 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10.
Field Bets - This is the 'one dice roll decides all' and you win with 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11 or 12. Big Six, Big Eight Bets - Here you predict that a 6 or 8 will show up before a 7 - for which you get 1:1 odds.
