Baccarat is a very popular casino game because it is very simple. You need to be the player who scores closest to 9. The emphasis of the game is deciding what kind of bet to place then it is up to the dealer. You can choose to bet on your own hand (Player or Punto) or bet on the dealer's hand (Banker or Banco). That is why the game is also called Punto Banco. A player can assume the role of Banker, but then pays 5% of winnings to the casino as a commission.
Objective
• You need to draw a two- or three-card hand that has a total which is closer to 9 than the Banker.
• Cards 10, J, Q, and K have no numerical value. A is counted as a 1 and all other cards have their normal value.
• Should you score more than 10, this becomes a 1. If you hold 7 and 8, this comes to 15 and therefore you score a 5.
• You cannot 'Bust'.
Baccarat Rules
- Both you and the Banker draw 2 cards.
- Should either side get a 8 or 9, then that party cannot get any more cards i.e. Stand.
- A player who gets 6 or 7 must Stand.
- When the player stands, the Banker can draw another card ('Hit') if his cards number 5 or less.
- Should the player have 5 or less, he can get a third card from the banker.
Depending on the number that the player gets, the Banker can also receive a 3rd card.
